Installation of Resume Manager


To install Resume Manager, you should download the self-extracting file setup.exe (Resume Manager Enterprise or Desktop Edition) from our web-site and do following steps:

1) Start Setup. exe and follow the installation procedure in InstallShield Wizard - Welcome.
2) Read the license agreement carefully. Press the Next button if you accept it.
3) In the Customer Information dialog, fill in User Name and Company Name fields.
4) By the Destination Location, indicate the folder where program files will be copied by the installation program.
5) Setup Type.

You may use the following options of installation of Enterprise Edition configuration:
a. Resume Manager Client 2.02- module installation- Resume Manager Client 2.02. It is designed to allow users to interact with database, send e-mails and import resumes from out sources.
b.Resume Manager Server 2.02- module installation Resume Manager Server 2.02. It is designed for receiving e-mails, sorting, filtering, analyzing and storing data.
c.Install database remdb - installation of database remdb for MS SQL Server 2000.

Represented versions admit a simultaneous choice of several combinations.

IMPORTANT:
  • For every user of Resume Manager system a client part should be installed. Server part - Resume Manager Server can be installed only in one computer of a whole local computer net and it can be as a separate server and as a workstation. During the installation of RMDE, MSDE 2000 it can be installed as in a work station and in a separate server.

  • The amount of licenses is defined by the number of users of the module Resume Manager Client.

    In Desktop Edition configuration such options of installation are possible:
    a. Resume Manager Client 2.02 - module installation - Resume Manager Client 2.02.
    b. Resume Manager Server 2.02 - module installation - Resume Manager Server 2.02.
    c. Install database remdb and MSDE 2000 - installation of Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE 2000) and the installation of database remdb in MSDE 2000.

    Represented versions allow a simultaneous selection of several combinations.

    IMPORTANT:
  • During installation of every copy of the Enterprise or Desktop Edition , you must install Resume Manager Server or Resume Manager Client after installation of remdb database or along with it, for the installation program will validate connection with the remdb database.
  • Later you may change the remdb database connection properties using the Resume Manager Database Setup utility(REMsql.exe) provided with the Resume Manager program.
  • To install the remdb database, you must have the Administrator rights on MS SQL Server 2000 or MSDE 2000.

    • 6) Destination Location. Select folder for installation of program.
    7) Type of authentification to MS SQL Server 2000 or MSDE 2000.

    8) Authentication of connection.
    Connection Setup

    This defines the MS SQL Server 2000 or MSDE 2000 connection properties: provide the SQL Server name, login and password. To install the remdb database to the SQL Server, supply the login and password with the Administrator rights on MS SQL Server 2000 or MSDE 2000.

    NOTE: By default, MS SQL Server 2000 and MSDE 2000 use the sa login with the blank password field for Administrator account.

    9) InstallShield Wizard Complete.

    You finished installation. From this page, you can register your copy of Resume Manager 2.02.

    Upon finishing installation, your Start->Programs->Resume Manager Enterprise (Desktop) Edition 2.02 menu will contain the following items:

  • Import from ODBC source -Utility for importing resumes to Resume Manager's remdb database from other databases with using of ODBC.
  • Product registration -Resume manager product registration - register our product on-line. Send to support center registration number, mailing information. You will receive information on the software updates, hot news, and tips for the latest and upcoming Resume Manager products.
  • Resume Manager Client 2.02 - if selected during installation - Designed for configuring the system, editing functions, sending e-mails, database search, and resume management.
  • Resume Manager Database Setup - Database connections utility for Resume Manager Client 2.02 and Resume Manager Server 2.02. The utility does the same as do the steps 7 and 8 of the Resume Manager installation wizard.
  • Resume Manager Help - User's manual.
  • Resume Manager Server 2.02 - (if selected during installation) - Designed for receiving e-mails, filtering unwanted messages, and parsing and analyzing resumes.
